Prof Chouhan is a senior business professional, board advisor and management educator. He is an MBA with specialisation in finance and has done a course from Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania on Governing the Corporation: Global Perspectives in the Indian Context. He holds a certificate from Global Corporate Governance Forum, IFC - World Bank Group, as trainer for the board of directors.

He is respected as an expert on strategic management, corporate governance, sustainability, CSR and integrated reporting.ProfessorChouhan is member of the global board of The International Institute of Governance & Leadership in Netherlands. He is a member of the global council of International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) in UK and also a member of the independent appointment committee of GRI in Amsterdam responsible for the appointment of the Global Sustainability Standard Board members and other governing body members.

Mahendra has served the boards of a plethora of industries from a wide range of industries, such as, financial services, IT, capital goods, exposition, telecom, pharma, housing education finance etc. Mahendra has also served on a couple of policy-making and regulatory committees including the SEBI committee on corporate governance as well as the Ministry of Corporate Affairs Committee for the National Policy on Corporate Governance. He was also the President of the Bombay Management Association and is currently a member of the managing committee of the Indian Merchants Chamber.

ProfessorChouhan is a visiting faculty at the Tilburg University in Netherlands and the Jamanalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies in Mumbai. He teaches corporate governance and CSR. He has co-authored two international books on corporate governance. He plays tennis &golf to maintain his physical health,while practicing yoga and meditation for his spiritual health.
